This summer, Blackpool’s iconic promenade became the stage for something truly unique: prance the prom, a silent disco series brought to life by House of Wingz in partnership with Move Together Blackpool.
Over eight vibrant sessions, participants slipped on wireless headphones and danced by the seaside, turning the promenade into a moving celebration of community and creativity. Each event was designed to be inclusive and accessible, featuring gentle choreography and offering newcomers a welcoming taster experience.
The series wasn’t just about dancing — it was about building confidence and connection. Every session began with a playful warm-up game, “pass the move”, helping prancers loosen up and bond before setting off on their silent journey. The shared goal? A spectacular flash mob finale that brought everyone together in rhythm and joy.
The campaign struck a chord with families, especially mums and children, and helped challenge the misconception that House of Wingz events are only for “young, cool, energetic dancers.”
And the standout moment? A young participant danced his heart out — only for facilitators to discover his headphones weren’t even switched on. Now that’s the spirit of a silent disco!
